WINTER FUN WITH CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND TOBOGGANING

Walking in a Winter Wonderland: No less than 80 km of cleared hiking trails await you here! The off-road version of walking through glittering winter landscapes is becoming increasingly popular: snowshoe hiking. After a short introduction, you are ready to go - immerse yourself in untouched nature, experience a unique feeling of security and silence that awakens the senses. You can get a map to take home from the tourist office.

The word "toboggan" comes from "to shake", and you should be prepared for that: A few centimetres above the ground you can feel the slightest wave, the speed feels much higher than it is. Rally on two runners, and thanks to the huts at the start and finish of most toboggan runs, the social part is not neglected either. There are twelve toboggan runs in the Stubaital, including twice the longest in Tyrol: both runs from the Elfer measure 8 km! Four of the runs are suitable for night tobogganing.

Ice climbing is one of the ultimate challenges that modern man can face. Not too often, though, because the freezing of waterfalls is not guaranteed even at alpine altitudes. On the Stubai Glacier, however, you will find a 20 m high ice climbing tower, an ice climbing opportunity with a guarantee. Natural ice climbing routes can also be found: Grawa Fall and Pinnistal Fall. But of course without a guarantee. Those who prefer to pursue the climbing trend indoors will find a top-class sports climbing hall in Fulpmes with 30 routes in difficulty levels IV to X.

The tip for guests who want to fly high: Take off! The Stubaital and especially the Elfer are widely known in the flying scene. But even if you haven't yet got your pilot's licence yourself, you can still enjoy this unique experience: Tandem flights are possible as well as taster courses.
